If you’re a middle school student you have probably run into Dr. Aschliman. Dr. Aschliman teaches 6H math class and Algebra 1 AC. Even though he came during the middle of the year, he made his students grow.
All of Dr. Aschliman’s students have said many great things about him and his teaching style. But how did Dr Aschliman become the loved math teacher here at JLA? His friendly demeanor and laid back personality really inspires students to come to him. Some other things that students have to say about him are, “the packets he gives are helpful,” “he has helped me improve in math” and “he is a very nice and helpful teacher”.
Dr. Aschliman attended Purdue University and the University of Miami where he got his P.H.D specializing in epistemology, ethics and logic. He holds an MBA in Business Analytics from Florida International University. With more than 10 years of experience in teaching, with both High school and University settings, his teaching style has a foundation of critical thinking, critical analysis and a love for teaching.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Aschliman holds valuable experience as a financial controller and operations manager for a local craft brewery. In this, he managed budgets and optimized operations and community-led focused initiatives.
One of Dr. Aschliman students Noi Benshetrit of 6th grade says that, “he has a very critical teaching style that makes it easy to understand the content.” Another student, David Ganoza of 6th grade, says “his quizzes help me understand math and he has helped me get better at math.”
Outside teaching, Dr. Aschliman has an avid love for sports like pickleball and tennis and loves to spend time with his family. Dr. Aschliman is a truly inspiring teacher, and we all feel so grateful to have him here at JLA.
