Student Government Opening Letter

Dear JLA Upper School Students,

Leadership is an important aspect of our school. It’s literally in the name. Leading on behalf of the community rather than ourselves is one of the most important virtues of a Student Government. Each of our council members were selected for their dedication to you, the students, as well as the spirit of the school’s mission.

Please congratulate the members of our Student Government:

Aviva Zippin – President

Ari Preciado – Vice President

Sophia Eichenwald Braghin – Secretary

Arielle Gad – Secretary

Leon Zrihen – Treasurer

Megan Kaplan – Officer

Julia Jerusalmi – Officer

Gabriel Grasiani – Officer

It is our mission to provide leadership, stability and a voice to the students of JLA. We hope to enable and nurture our community as we define its culture. You have our promise to work for and alongside you, making a positive impact on your daily school experiences as well as your interactions throughout. Together, we can make our school a place full of joy, respect and excitement. As always, we are here to represent you.

As the inaugural student government council, we have the unique opportunity to set expectations for future councils. We fully intend to make the entire student body feel heard and seen as we progress through the school year. Please make sure to voice your opinions, concerns, or ideas to one of our members. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us and will be discussed, and implemented when possible.

Currently, the council is working on putting together a series of upper school and school wide events. This ranges from a Purim Spirit week to mini game competitions. No matter the event, we want these activities to be extremely memorable and exciting. One of our many competitions will be held soon; be on the lookout for updates and new information.

As aforementioned, we want to make sure that our goals align with that of the student body. Your input is welcomed and appreciated. Please feel free to reach out with concerns, questions and suggestions for student events. We will always do our best to meet and exceed your expectations.

Sincerely,

Your Student Government
